Two charitable organisations, the Phoenix Recovery Project and the Joshua Children’s Home were both recipients of a $150,000 donation from the Diplomatic Corps of Guyana as part of its annual Christmas tradition.
At the handing over ceremony held on Wednesday, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Russian Ambassador Nikolay Smirnov lauded both institutions for their work in furthering social development in Guyana and expressed the hope that they would sustain their philanthropic efforts.
Receiving the cheques on behalf of the Phoenix Recovery Project was Senior Counsellor Lucinda Williams and Cheryl Winter a representative of the Joshua Children’s Home.
