With the vision of helping people to maintain healthy eyes, Optique Vision Care opened a new location in the Giftland Mall, Turkeyen on Wednesday evening.
The new store which is located on the second floor of the mall is the first Georgetown-based for the company. Apart from its modern clinical equipment, Optique Vision Care has an in house state-of-the-art laboratory which is capable of processing more than 50 pairs of eyewear per day. It is fully computerized and is remotely maintained by an American-based company.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, General Manager Dhani Narine said, “we are excited to share our new location as this is a direct response to feedback received from our customers who requested a more central Georgetown location. We responded and believe that everyone will love our new store, which incorporates our brand, a welcoming atmosphere, a modern retail store that celebrates our dreams and vision.”
Meanwhile, Dr. George Norton, Minister of Public Health said any optical centre being commissioned in Guyana is in the interest of its primary health care while noting that his ministry will continue to support and embrace the private sector.
Also present was Dr. Emmanuel Cummings, Head of the Health Sciences Faculty of the University of Guyana and Minister within the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Karen Cummings.
Optique Vision Care was created in September 2013 to deliver consistent patient care across Guyana. It operates two other locations at Mahaica, East Coast Demerara and Grove, East Bank Demerara.
