A man is now dead after he was brutally stabbed by another during an alternation on Christmas Day in Albouystown.
The victim, who was said to be 50, and whose name was given only as “Fluffy,” was pronounced dead on arrival to the Georgetown Public Hospital. He was also reportedly a drug addict who had no fixed place of abode.
The suspect, who has been identified as Mark Trevor Greaves also known as ‘Yankee,’ 54, of Curtis Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, was subsequently taken into police custody.
According to the police, around 15:00 hrs on Friday, the two men were involved in an argument in Albouystown, during which “Fluffy” was stabbed to his chest and neck.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum yesterday said that the deceased sustained two stab wounds to his right shoulder and a slit under his throat after which he collapsed in a Lot 33 James Street, Albouystown yard. He was picked up and rushed to the hospital where he succumbed on arrival.
When Stabroek News visited the community of Albouystown yesterday, residents were tightlipped about the incident.
