The Australian Lawyers’ Cricket Council (ALCC) is hosting the 5th International Lawyers’ Cricket World Cup in Brisbane, Australia over the period of the 29 December 2015 — 9 January 2016.
According to a press release, Charles Ramson, Sanjeev Datadin, Tejnarine Ramroop and Tejprakash Persaud winged off to Australia yesterday as part of the West Indies lawyers team forming part of a Commonwealth XI to compete in the International Lawyers’ Cricket World Cup. The final will be played at the famous Gabba.
There have been four previous Lawyers World Cups, which have taken place in India (in 2007 and 2013), England (in 2009) and Barbados (in 2011), the release said.
The regular participants at these World Cups are England, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Australia. New Zealand, South Africa and Ireland have participated at some of these World Cups.
Bangladesh is joining this tournament for the first time in Brisbane.
The release said that this is Ramson, Ramroop and Datadin’s third World Cup and Persaud’s first.
