(Barbados Nation) Government plans to clamp down on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), called drones, to prevent their misuse and unregulated activity.
Word of this comes from the Ministry of Defence and Security as unconfirmed reports suggest drones have either been spotted or heard flying over heavily populated residential districts.
The ministry outlined its tough stance in a statement to the SUNDAY SUN.
It said: “In 2016, measures will be taken to introduce a legislative framework that will require, among other things, the registration of all drones in Barbados with the appropriate authorities. An audit of the numbers of drones will also be required.”
