World renowned bodybuilder Laura Crevalle arrives for Maximum Sports Fitness Show

Guyanese born, world renowned bodybuilding legend, Laura Creavalle returned home yesterday after 15 years to host a fitness seminar and to celebrate the first anniversary of the Maximum Sports Combat and Strength Show.

During her stay, the IFBB Hall of famer will also interact with fitness enthusiast and co-host the sports show which airs on NCN on Saturdays from 16:30hrs.

When Stabroek Sport spoke with the fit 56 year old yesterday, the three-time IFBB Ms. International Champion (1990, 1994 and 1996) stated that “it’s pretty incredible to fly in and see such beauty and the greenery, it heartwarming. I haven’t been here for 15 years and it feels good to be back.”

The most successful local body builder of all time expounded on what her visit will entail.

“I’ve been hearing about the fitness show that Max has and I knew he was having his first anniversary. I asked to be part of that and I’m glad that a lot of people are following the show.

“I will be here for a few weeks, I will be doing seminar on June 3rd at the National Cultural Centre from 6pm. The seminar is for everyone, not just for athletes, it’s for anyone that wants to start a fitness regime or just curious.”

Creavalle, who is also a nutritionist and a life coach said she “will also be having one on one conversations with persons who are shy” at the seminar which attracts a $1500 registration fee.

Registration starts on Monday at the National Cultural Centre and at Fitness Express.

At the seminar, there will also be a dramatic presentation and martial arts and self-defense techniques dramatization.

Creavalle made her pro debut at the 1988 Ms. Olympia contest, a contest to which she would return 12 more times before her retirement. During her pro career, her home country would appear as both Canada and the United States in the competition scorecard. She was runner-up twice at the Ms. Olympia (1992, 1994) and won three Ms. International titles (1990, 1994-95)

Now retired from competition, Creavalle operates Club Creavalle Training Camp, offering personal training, nutrition training, and related services. She also has written two cook books, A Taste of Club Creavalle and The Lite Lifestyle: 150 Ultra Low Calorie Recipes for Rapid Weight Loss! She also co-authored The Health Handbook with former husband Chris Aceto. Laura has been a feature editor for Muscle & Fitness magazine on low fat cooking in the Muscle Fare column.

She was inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame in 2007.
