Dear Editor,
I wish West Indians would read Daniel Brettig’s most recent article on the differences in the pay scales between West Indian and Australian cricketers, and ask those who keep spreading the myth that West Indians are among the highest earners in cricket to stop the nonsense.
I think that the cricketers have by now stopped listening to the critics, who really have very little that is useful to say.
Strangely enough, one of the most talented cricketers ever, Lara, is one of the few who seems to understand that WI cricketers need help from better support systems in order to be competitive. All else is abuse and silly contrasts from those of a different era.
Hopefully this attitude will change for the New Year.
