The Commission of Inquiry (CoI) into the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) was not presented with any evidence of corruption.
The CoI report recently tabled in parliament said that allegations of corruption in GuySuCo were made via telephone calls and in some cases by written statements. Claims were made in particular that GuySuCo’s fertilisers were being sold to external groups.
“These allegations were not substantiated and no evidence was presented to the CoI in support of any such claims”, the report said.
