Paul Persaud, the Albouystown cart man accused of robbing a woman of hundreds of thousands of dollars in diamonds and other items, was on Wednesday granted bail in the sum of $100,000 by a city court.
It was alleged that Persaud, on December 7, at Albouystown, robbed Sonia Stanislaus of a handbag, a gold chain, a Nokia phone and a quantity of diamonds valued $350,000. The total value of the items taken amounted to $442,500.
