East Bank Essequibo residents flocked the Multi-purpose Centre at Farm on Monday where they benefitted from free medical services provided by a team of doctors from the USA.
At the clinic, residents were given checks via portable state-of-the-art devices, including an auto refractor (for eye tests) as well as pregnancy and other tests at its mini laboratory.
They walked out with free spectacles, reading glasses and sunglasses at the visions clinic that was directed by Dr. William Creveling.
They also received medications for various complaints such as asthma, arthritis, hypertension and diabetes, at the pharmacy.
The clinic was conducted through the compliments of the Truth For Today Medical Mission (TFTMM) that is headed by the director, Dr. Greg Waller.
Dr. Waller, a physician, who lived in Guyana for seven years with his wife, Linda, is fully licensed to practise in Guyana and the US.
Linda, a nurse and pharmacy technician is the assistant director of the TFTMM, a Christian-based organization that provides services to less fortunate people in third world countries.
She expressed gratitude to the Government of Guyana for granting the permission to conduct the clinics and said they were there to help people regardless of race, religion or party affiliation.
