Central Agricola, Tiger Bay and Mocha secured opening wins when the Central Georgetown Police Youth Group coordinated Rainforest Water Knockout Futsal Championship commenced yesterday.
Played at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue, Central Agricola defeated fellow villagers Agricola by a 4-3 margin. Similarly, Tiger Bay squeaked past Mocha Trainers by a 2-1 score line.
Meanwhile, Mocha defeated Central Georgetown in the final fixture via the walkover route. In the lone female encounter, Tiger Bay crushed Diamond 5-1. Action in the event will continue today at the same locale with eighth matches from 9:00hrs.
The event is set to feature 35 teams from the Tiger Bay, Mocha, Alberttown /North Sophia, Albouystown, Grove, Central Georgetown, Yarrowkabra, Golden Grove/Diamond, Soesdyke/Timehri and Agricola areas.
