A man was yesterday sentenced to one year in jail for robbing a woman of her gold chain in a gun-point attack.
Kennard Persaud, who was initially charged in February, 2015, was sentenced at the conclusion of his trial in a city court.
Persaud was found guilty of robbing Stacy Mansfield of a $215,000 gold chain using a gun on September 10, 2014.
Mansfield was walking along Laing Avenue, at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, when Persaud approached her and pointed a gun to her head. He then grabbed her chain from around her neck and escaped.
