GRA seeking to dispose of goods consigned to Bobby Ramroop in 2011

The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has served notice that it intends to dispose of a 40-ft container of goods consigned since 2011 to businessman Bobby Ramroop.

In a notice in the Official Gazette of January 13th, it gave the description of the goods as “Flag Pole and Accessories”.

The container arrived on the vessel CONEAST V-016 on the 24th of October 2011. This would have been a month prior to the general elections that were held that year.

The GRA notice said that the container is presently stored at the Demerara Shipping Company Limited Wharf and the goods within will be disposed of in accordance with the provisions of Section 90 (2) of the Customs Act, Chapter 82:01. The notice said that any person having lien on the goods must forward claims to the Office of the Commissioner-General not later than one month after the publication of the notice.

The notice was signed by acting Commissioner-General Ingrid Griffith.
