Dear Editor,
After having lived for several decades in the USA I returned to Guyana to help develop my beloved country with my hard-earned dollars. However, I am left wondering whether I am living in the jungle or in an actual community.
For over four years now the trenches in front of my residence have not been cleaned. I am being forced to share my home (yard) with unwanted guests in the form of caimans and snakes. My neighbours and other villagers are similarly affected since these weed-infested trenches are several miles long.
I am begging for the relevant authority to intervene in this matter as soon as possible before the unthinkable happens and a young child is injured by one of these dangerous reptiles.
Yours faithfully,
Rampaul Rajaran
