A miner was yesterday granted bail after he denied a charge of unlawful wounding that dates back almost two years ago.
The charge, which was read in a city court by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, states that on April 30, 2014, at Mazaruni River, George Parks unlawfully wounded Leslyn Thompson.
Parks, 28, of 68 Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was placed on $100,000 bail. The matter is due to be called again at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on February 12.
