The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has recommended that a policeman be charged with raping a 14 year old girl who had reportedly gone to him for assistance.
The matter has been engaging the attention of the DPP’s Chambers since last October after the alleged offence was committed. The policeman who is attached to an East Bank Demerara Police Station is being accused of raping the teen shortly after she went to him and reported that she had been abducted and had managed to escape. The rape was said to have occurred at the policeman’s home.
In a press release yesterday, the DPP’s Chambers said that the two police files in the
