Dear Editor,
Attempts to have dialogue with the Minister of Public Infrastructure have been fruitless even on the day of the week set aside to see members of the public.
The residents of East Mahaicony have an unbearable issue with the GPL. A non-refundable charge of over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars is demanded for materials, labour and transportation as a prerequisite for getting connected to the GPL’s system. This is clearly unfair. Why should a potential customer be made to pay for poles, wire, etc, which the supplier or vendor should provide. At no time will the customer be able to claim them, although he is called to fund their acquisition.
GPL is bent on stymieing us from the “good life” which we deserve. Is the Minister too busy or too uncaring to intervene, so that we can have a somewhat ‘better life’? Can Minister Broomes help?
Yours faithfully,
S Chester
