The Guyana National Shipping Corporation (GNSC) yesterday handed over six unpainted benches to the Mayor and City Council (M&CC) to be used for public seating at children’s play park at the Merriman Mall.
The presentation was made yesterday morning at the play park by GNSC Project Manager Eion Oudkerk and the GNSC Corporate Secretary Mohini Somaroo.
Sherry Jerricks, Assistant Town Clerk, received the donation and noted GNSC’s efforts to support the council with the ongoing restoration and beautification of the city.
Jerricks further added that while the M&CC is very appreciative of the unpainted benches, it would consider painting them with native animals and related information so that children who go to the park to play would also be edified.
