Guyana’s Futsal team was eliminated from the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Futsal championships after losing to arch-rivals Trinidad and Tobago in their second group fixture yesterday in Havana, Cuba.
Following their 2-5 defeat to Curacao in the opening match, Guyana needed at least a draw to keep their hopes alive of progressing to the next round. However, it was the twin island republic who secured the vital three points as they squeaked past the Guyanese 4-3.
The group winners will now contest the qualifiers final round which began yesterday and will end tomorrow.
Guyana last participated in the event in 2008, placing fourth in the group.
