An uncle and his nephew were each placed on bail yesterday after being charged with assaulting each other.
Garfield Haynes, 53, and Andy Gibson, 20, were read charges stating that on January 19, at Hadfield Street, Georgetown, they each assaulted the other.
While Gibson, who resides at Lot 3 Hadfield Street, Lodge, pleaded guilty to the charge, Haynes, who lives at the same address, pleaded not guilty.
Gibson told the court that he hit his uncle in an act of self defence after the man pulled a knife and hit him.
Magistrate Annette Singh subsequently released both men on $10,000 bail and ordered them to sign a bond to keep the peace. The matter has been adjourned to February 5.
