The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the murder charge against Richard Stanton, the man accused of the killing of businesswoman Patricia Sanasie, continued yesterday with Detective Samuel Headley completing his evidence-in-chief.
Headley was examined by Police Prosecutor David Goodridge yesterday at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court. However, when he was due to be crossed-examined by defence attorney Mark Conway, the lawyer asked for more time so he can clarify the witness’s testimony. His application was granted by Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul and Conway was given up to this morning, when the PI will continue.
Stanton, 39, of Lot 53 Princes Street, Lodge, allegedly killed Sanasie, 45, on January 12, 2015 in front of her Lot 129 Atlantic Gardens home. She was shot multiple times to her upper body at point-blank range while she was opening her gate.
