Cordel Martins and Gopaul Applesammy bowled Hope Secondary to a 15-run victory over Bygeval when the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) National Secondary Schools Cricket League (NSSCL) continued yesterday.
Martins captured 5 for 12 and Applesammy 4 for 18 to dismiss Bygeval for 70 in 18.2 overs. Earlier, Hope Secondary were bowled out for 85 with Shoaib Shaw 3 for 22.
Rovin Ramsarup top scored with 27.
At the Enterprise Ground, Plaisance Secondary made 70 in just 10 overs with Trion Hendricks top scoring with 11.
Lodge Heranjan Ori took 5 for 23 from three overs for Cummings Lodge who in reply made 71 for 2, winning by eight wickets.
In another East Coast Demerara District match, Annandale Secondary beat the International Business School (IBE) by three wickets.
Batting first, IBE were bowled out for a 103 in 20.4 overs with Avinash Ramsaywack 19 and Kennard Amsterdam 11 the main scorers.
Tameshawar Motiram grabbed 4 for 15, Ayube Sammy 2 for 24 and Damuko Nguend 2 for 25 for the eventual winners who reached 104 for 7 in 26.4 overs.
Mike Persaud 23 and Punishwar Amsook, 15 were the principal scorers.
Hope Secondary will now face Mahaicony Secondary on Friday at Fairfield ground while Chase Academy will take on St Joseph’s High at Everest ground from 10:00 hours and Linden Foundation will play Dora Secondary at Bayroc.
