The Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GABBFF) will kick off its 2016 calendar of activities with an athletes’ meeting and posing seminar on February 27 at Olympic House.
This is according to president of the federation, Keavon Bess. The Attorney-at-Law also disclosed that the meeting will be followed by the National Novices Championship and the Senior Championships.
Bess, 30, told Stabroek Sport that the Novices event is billed for April 9 at the Theatre Guild while the flagship fixture of the GABBFF calendar is scheduled for July 10 at the National Cultural Centre.
The GABBFF head also disclosed that he has not received word from the Hugh Ross Classic Committee about staging their biennial show but was confident of an announcement soon. He was, however, certain that the Flex Night International event will be staged in early December.
Bess who stated that he will not be seeking re-election at the next AGM in 2017, further added that he hopes to have large contingents represent the Golden Arrowhead at the Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding Championships and the Darcy Beckles Classic.
The dates for those championships traditionally held in September and November respectively, have yet to be announced.
