(Trinidad Express) Caribbean Premier League (CPL) cricket operations director Michael Hall has confirmed that the West Indies Test series in Caribbean could coincide with this year’s ‘biggest party in sport’.
In an audio clip explaining the changes to the 2016 CPL draft, Hall said “There is a chance that during the CPL this year that there will be a Test series involving India and the West Indies in the Caribbean at around about the same time.”
And in order to protect the franchises from retaining a West Indies player that could be part of the Test series, he explained that teams “have the opportunity to retain that player on a free and then pay them only if they are available for a certain number of matches for the tournament.
