Dear Editor,
I live at Montrose on the East Coast and I get water from the Better Hope well which is situated to the north of Better Hope. This well supplies water to Better Hope, Atlantic Gardens and Montrose.
The water comes on at 5am and cuts off at 9am. It comes on at again 4pm and cuts off at 8pm. Every day, even on Saturdays and Sundays, the time does not change. The weekend is when people are at home and have to do their laundry and cleaning, etc, but there is no adjustment in the times for the supply of water.
In other areas, for instance in the case of LBI, the well supplies water the whole day and night. Since all water is controlled by GWI why do some areas have a different schedule from others?
I read in the papers where the recently appointed GWI Chief Executive Officer, Dr Van West Charles, said they would be streamlining the supply of water countrywide, and I look forward to this initiative.
Yours faithfully,
J Kadaru
