The Berbice Cricket Board/J Z Mohamed of City Bias, New York 50 overs-a-side round robin Inter Zone competition is set to commence today and tomorrow with two matches daily.
At the Cumberland ground, Canje, New Amsterdam/Canje will play Lower Corentyne while in the second match Upper Corentyne will play West Berbice at the No. 72 Ground.
Tomorrow, Upper Corentyne will tackle Lower Corentyne at the No. 72 Ground while West Berbice will play New Amsterdam/Canje at the D?Edward Ground.
The final of the competition will take place February 20.
According to a press release, the BCB youth selectors will use the tournament to assist them in selecting the Berbice team to defend their title at the upcoming Inter County tournament.
The Upper Corentyne Cricket Association, Albion Cricket Club, Blairmont Cricket Club and Young Warriors Cricket Club will each host a match to assist the BCB to make sure the tournament is successfully completed while other clubs/associations and businesses are expected to come on board, the release stated.
