The National Association for Women’s Football (NAFWF) will commence the start of its season with a two day tourney to be held at the Tucville Community ground February 27th-28th from 8:00am.
Featuring 12 teams, the event will be played in an initial seven-a-side round-robin format with the teams being divided into two groups of six.
Upon the conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-final round.
Eagles FC will lead the Georgetown contingent which also features Little Divas and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) while Foxy Ladies will represent the West Demerara region and Kuru-Kuru FC will compete on behalf of the East Bank of Demerara.
Demerara Queens and Mackenzie High School will represent Linden while Berbice will be represented by New Amsterdam Warriors FC and West Side Conquerors.
Completing the list of participants are Bartica unit Striking Dolls, Essequibo Warriors and Kwakwani Strikers. Over $250,000 in prizes inclusive of trophies will be up for grabs during the event.
