A police officer who is stationed at the Impact Base, Brickdam was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital on Friday evening after he was hit off the motorcycle he was riding, reportedly by a minibus.
Injured is David Lall, 20, a resident of Albouystown, Georgetown and a police officer for almost three years. The accident occurred around 8 pm on Friday at the corner of D’Urban and Smyth streets, Georgetown.
While the circumstances surrounding the accident are not clear, Stabroek News understands that it occurred while Lall was heading to work.
The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
A friend of the injured man said he was informed of the accident when a colleague of Lall visited his home on Friday evening. The man said before he could have arrived at the scene, the police officer had already been transported to the hospital.
According to him, Lall was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state but by yesterday afternoon he was responding to some extent.
