Four months after being freed of the murder of Dexter Lindo, businessman Lawrence Wayne has once again been taken into police custody on advice of the Director of Public Prose-cutions (DPP) to have the case reopened.
The case against Wayne was dismissed on October 16, 2015, when Magistrate Ann McLennan upheld a no-case submission made by his attorney, Mark Waldron.
Yesterday, Wayne appeared in court accompanied by his lawyer after police had issued an arrest warrant out for him. He will remain in custody until a hearing, next Tuesday.
Lindo and another man had allegedly robbed Wayne’s business place prior to the encounter where the young man was fatally shot. After the robbery, Wayne allegedly made his way to a location at Light and Sixth streets, Alberttown, where a confrontation ensued between the two and the Lindo was fatally shot.
