Chris McCalmont, who was accused of stealing a Samsung smartphone, was on Monday released on bail after denying the charge in a city court.
It is alleged that on February 2, between Lime and Bent streets, in Georgetown, McCalmont, 19, stole a Samsung S5, valued $150,000 and which was the property of Joanna Rosemary.
McCalmont, of 27 D’Urban Street, Lodge, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The accused, a labourer, was released on $50,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who adjourned the matter to February 22.
