SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates, CMC – All-rounder Dwayne Bravo struck a small cameo but went wicket-less with the ball as his Lahore Qalanders went down to Islamabad United by eight wickets in the Pakistan Super League here yesterday.
Sent in at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Qalanders rattled up 166 for six off their 20 overs with Bravo stroking 26 off 17 deliveries with three fours.
Wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan top-scored with 50 off 27 balls while opener Azhar Ali chimed in with 27 from 18 balls.
Bravo’s Trinidad and Tobago teammate Kevon Cooper got a first ball ‘duck’.
The right-handed Bravo put on 60 for the fifth wicket with Rizwan to pull Qalanders around from 89 for four in the 13th over.
Pacer Russell finished with none for 34 from his four overs.
In reply, United cruised to their target in the backs of half-centuries from captain Shane Watson and fellow opener Sharjeel Khan.
Both scored 79 in a first wicket stand of 153 to lay the foundation for an uncomplicated win.
Russell, promoted to number three, lasted just five balls for his two before holing out to long on off seamer Ehsan Adil in the 16th over.
Bravo went wicket-less from his four overs which cost 28 runs while Cooper sent down two overs which cost 29 runs.
