The finals of the annual Children’s Mashramani competitions will be held from February 17 to 20 at various venues.
The Ministry of Education’s Department of Culture, Youth and Sport noted that the regional competitions which started on January 25, will culminate with annual costume parades in Georgetown on February 20, in Region Seven on February 22 and Region 10 on February 26.
Moreover, the dance and masquerade competitions have been slated for February 17; Calypso and Dramatic Poetry, February 18; and choir presentation, which will be a ‘Salute to Guyana’ for February 19. These will all be held at the National Cultural Centre, from 09:30 hrs to 16:30 hrs each day. The public is invited to witness the events that would showcase Guyanese children’s talents and creativity.
The Children’s Mashramani competition, which is being celebrated under the Mashramani theme ‘Celebration of Diversity, Unity and Sovereignty,’ is sponsored by the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry and GTT.
