Dear Editor,
Lincoln Lewis is a trade unionist. He has deep convictions about the cause of workers. He believes the closure of Wales estate was handled badly; he believes the operations can be transitioned to other crops without affecting the livelihood of the workers.
Why does the administration need to stand its ground? The debate is still going on. The goal of the protests is to force all stakeholders including the government to study the problem a little more deeply to find better solutions.
My perspective of Mr Lewis is that he is a true humanitarian who is also faithful to his unionist creed. He does not see race in everything as other bloggers are doing.
The bottom line is that government wants to unload the estates so that the estates don’t become a drain on the treasury. This end goal can be achieved by handing over each estate to a worker-shareholder-owned corporation.
Yours faithfully,
Mike Persaud
