The UG Wolves ended the unbeaten run of the Pepsi Hornets and the Caribs gained a walk-over victory against the Police Falcons when the GRFU/GTT 15s league continued this past weekend at the National Park.
Yesterday, the student ruggers of Guyana’s highest learning institution, schooled Elwin Chase’s men to earn a 29-12 victory, in the process snapping the Hornets two-game win streak.
Three tries by speedy winger Osei McKensie, and a try by Trevon Selmon put paid to the efforts of the more experienced Hornets outfit.
UG’s star player, Godfrey Broomes also chipped in with three conversions and a field goal to pad the scoreline for the Wolves. A try apiece by Chase and Rickford Cummings and a Ryan Gonsalves conversion was not enough for the Hornets to keep its unbeaten run in the league.
The fourth weekend of the league continues on Saturday with the Falcons taking on the Wolves.
