In the fifth game of the season on Saturday, the Wolves ran a demolition derby on the up-and-coming Police Falcons with a 99-nil drubbing while the Caribs outlasted arch rival, Pepsi Hornets, 17-14 on Sunday in an enthralling encounter.

The Wolves’ experience, coupled with their saran-wrap defence and potent offence put paid to the efforts of the Falcons outfit which is made up of fresh faces.

Leading the Hornets’ demolition were usual suspects, Rondell McArthur (three tries), Captain, Lance Adonis (three tries and six conversions), Ryan Dey (three tries) and Godfrey Broomes (one try and one conversion).

Keevon Wallace and Trevon Selmon also recorded a try each to complete the student ruggers’ thrashing of the police recruits.

Other players also chipped in with tries to put their names on the score sheet.

McArthur was high in praise of the Falcon’s effort but stated that his team is out to make a statement on all teams involved in the tournament and that the Wolf pack intends to take the top honors in the league.

Meanwhile, the Caribs pulled off somewhat of an upset with their win over the Hornets.

Tries by Captain Akeem Fraser, a try and conversion by vocal leader, Theo Henry and a try by Kevin Davis earned the Caribs the victory.

Elwyn Chase (two tries) and Ryan Gonsalves (two conversions) were the scorers for the Hornets outfit. Their efforts however, were not enough to put away the Caribs.

The league continues on Saturday at the same venue.
