Team Benschop which is fielding candidates for the Georgetown City Council election says a volunteer was assaulted last evening while putting up flags.
In a press release, it said that its volunteer Iqbal Rahim was physically assaulted while placing orange flags on Dowding Street in Constituency number two, Kitty. It said that the perpetrator of the act is known and a report has been lodged with the police.
The release said that Rahim is currently nursing minor injuries.
