Spinners Veerasammy Permaul, Devendra Bishoo and Gudakesh Motie yesterday grabbed eight wickets among them to help the Guyana Jaguars defeat Trinidad and Tobago’s Red Force by 105 runs in their seventh round match of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Professional Cricket League four-day tournament at the Providence National Stadium.
The win helped the Jaguars, who are unbeaten in the competition, move to 101 points.

The Red Force were set a target of 303 runs in the entire day’s play and though another Guyanese but one who plays for Trinidad and Tobago, Narsingh Deonarine dug in for a gritty half century, and Rayad Emrit blasted his way to two short of a half century, the spin triumvirate triumphed, spinning their wiles all over the other batsman.
Deonarine’s 57, his 46th regional half century, came in 201 minutes and from 141 balls with five boundaries while Emrit’s 48 came from a mere 51 balls and included nine boundaries.
Permaul continued his magic to snatch 4-45 in the second innings, adding to his first innings 5-65 for a match haul of 9-110 while Bishoo (2-56) and Motie (2-45) lent excellent support.
