Kuru-Kururu Warriors, Attention Family and Royal Youths were among the winners when the inaugural Guyana Beach Soccer Association (GBSA) National Championships continued on Sunday.
Staged at the Bayroc Beach Facility in Linden, Kuru-Kururu Warriors squeaked past Cool Runnings 5-3.
Cordel Johnson led the victors with a brace while Nicolas Holder, Christopher Fraser and Ryan Scott netted once respectively.
For the losing team, Deon Charter led the way as he recorded a brace. Meanwhile, Attention Family dismantled High Stars by a 5-2 score line. Jamal Haynes registered a brace in the win.
Supporting with solo efforts were Anthony Barker, Trevon Archibald and Jeshawn Moore correspondingly. On the other hand, Royal Youths downed Silver Bullets by an 8-2 score.
In the other results of the day, Buxton Youth Developers defeated Alexander Village via walkover while Sparta Boss claimed a victory over arch-rival West Front Road via the identical route.
Action in the championships will continue Sunday with five matches.
The championships will be contested in a two round format over an 18-day period. Matches will be played every Sunday at the Bayroc Community Centre Beach Soccer facility and at Kuru Kururu on the Linden Soesdyke Highway.
Winner of the event will receive the championship trophy and $250,000 while the second, third and fourth place units will collect the respective accolade and $100,000, $75,000 and $50,000 correspondingly. Other sponsors of the event include E-Networks and 104.3 FM (Linden).
