A police constable, who is accused of borrowing a friend’s car and not returning it, has been released on $100,000 bail.
Shawn Critchlow, 25, pleaded not guilty to a fraudulent conversion charge when he was arraigned before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Providence Magistrate’s Court last week.
According to the charge, between June and September, 2015, Critchlow, who was attached to the Timehri Police Station, borrowed the car from Quinton Shury for three days but never returned it.
The court was told that the accused used the car, which was valued $2.2 million, for his own personal gains and benefit.
The next hearing in the case is set for Monday.
