Dear Editor,
The sugar workers of Wales estate should have been allowed, at the very least, to exercise their right to free speech in parliament, and speak about their estate closure.
The message to them that they are prohibited from speaking about Wales in parliament, is a loud message to all sugar workers and their families across Guyana that they have no business speaking in parliament about their estate-related conditions. This refusal even suggests that they are not benefiting from representational government.
Yours faithfully,
Rakesh Rampertab
