A jury has been empanelled to deliberate in the case involving common law husband Prabhudyal Tarachand called Ramesh, who is indicted for the murder of his wife.
The accused appeared before Justice Franklyn Holder at the Berbice Assizes on Friday, where, at his arraignment, he
pleaded not guilty.
He is represented by Attorney at law Perry Gossai, in association with Murselene Bacchus.
Particulars of the case stated that on June 2, 2013, the accused murdered Geeta Devi Bhisundial called Geeta Bissoondial in the County of Berbice.
Prosecutrix Natasha Backer will present the State’s case on Thursday and is expected to call seven witness for the prosecution.
Tarachand, a father of two, had shared a common law relationship with the now deceased for eight years, at High Reef, Corentyne, when she was killed.
