An ex-convict yesterday found himself back before a court to answer a robbery charge.
Leroy Williams, 24, of d’Urban Backlands, was read a charge that he stole a $138,000 gold chain, which was the property of Lisa Kishore, on October 3, 2015, at Croal Street, Georgetown.
Williams pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read by Magistrate Judy Latchman, who was told by the prosecution that Kishore positively identified the defendant and there is a concern for her safety if the man is released. As a result, Williams was denied bail and the matter was adjourned to March 11.
