GRA Board, management identify priorities at retreat

The Governing Board and Senior Management of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) examined a number of priority areas for 2016 when they met recently at Lake Mainstay Resort on the Essequibo Coast for a three-day retreat.

According to a GRA press release, the event which was aimed at deciding on the strategic direction of the organisation also examined and agreed on ways to optimize revenue collection, improve trade facilitation and protect taxpayers’ data. In addition, the retreat addressed the culture of the organisation as part of its effort to improve relations with taxpayers and align resources with its priorities.

The senior members of the organisation, led by Commissioner General (Ag) Ingrid Griffith, were in attendance along with Chairman Rawle Lucas and other Directors including Sonya Roopnauth and Jermaine Grant. Joining the team was First Vice President of the Guyana Public Service Union Mortimer Livan, who made a presentation on the history and the role of the union. This presentation followed a recent sensitisation exercise that was held with the staff of the GRA.
