In light of the discovery of the Zika Virus in Guyana, the Vector and Rodent Unit of the Mayor and City Council has stepped up its activities in spraying the street drains and surface drains in Georgetown, a release from City Hal said today
During January 2016, vector rodent officers sprayed the drains in several wards in Georgetown including: Shirley Field Ridley Square, Guyhoc Park, Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Wortmanville and Werk-en-Rust.
Public awareness sessions were also conducted.
