A North West District miner, who was previously remanded on a charge of attempted murder was yesterday placed on $175,000 bail.
Adrian Robertson, 23, who was charged on January 19 with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Arian Bess with the intent to commit murder, was granted bail by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
Robertson first appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan who read the charge which stated that on January 12, at Diamond Housing Scheme, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Bess, with intent to commit murder. He was not required to plead as the matter was indictable.
Bail was originally objected to by the prosecution on the premise that the accused was a flight risk, given that he had provided different addresses to the court and there was a likelihood he would not return for trial.
Robertson is set to have his next court appearance on March 24.
