The family of an Agricola man who was struck down by a vehicle nearly two weeks ago, seeks justice as he remains in a critical condition while the alleged perpetrator is yet to be arrested.
Rudival Azore, 63, known as ‘Tall boy’ was struck down around 7.30 am on Saturday, February 13, at the corner of Brutus Street, Agricola.
Speaking on behalf of the family, a close relative, who did not want to be named, told Stabroek News that Azore remains in critical condition at the St Joseph Mercy Hospital. The relative stated that he had an injury to his pelvis, which was displaced by 3 cm, his intestine had shifted and he also sustained injuries to his hand, back and shoulder. Stabroek News was told that Azore was set to undergo a second surgery and with his medical bill already at $1 million, the family is requesting help from the person who hit him down.
According to the spokesperson, the matter was reported to the police but not on the same day given the fact that the family was very distraught after receiving the news. Azore’s wife was said to not be coping well. It was further stated that the police are waiting for Azore to get better so that he can identify the person who hit him down.
Azore, a welder, remains a patient at the Intensive Care Unit at the St Joseph Mercy Hospital.
