Following the rescheduling of the Rose Hall Town Jammers and Rose Hall fixture due to inclement weather, the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) sanctioned Anamayah Memorial Basketball Championships will resume on Sunday.
The lone fixture at the Rose Hall Basketball court will pit Rose Hall Town Jammers against the undefeated Fyrish Black Sharks from 16:00hrs.
Fyrish Black Sharks have already qualified for the knockout stage, defeating Rose Hall Town and Canje Knights in their earlier fixtures. Similarly, Ithaca Hard-liners also has claimed a berth into the next round.
According to tourney coordinator Vibert Garrett, the derby matchup between Rose Hall Town Jammers and Rose Hall will be rescheduled to a later date.
The event which is to be played in an initial round-robin format, will see the eight teams divided into two groups. Group-A of the event will consist of Fryrish Black Sharks, Rose Hall Town Jammers, Canje Knights and Rose Hall.
On the other hand, group-B will comprise of Ithaca Hardliners, Hopetown Steelers and New Amsterdam Warriors. Following the conclusion of the group stage, the respective group winner and runner-up will progress to the knockout round
The eventual winner and runner-up of the tourney will walk-away with cash incentives and the corresponding trophies. On the individual side of the presentation, an award will also be given for the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
