Winners Connection and Eagles secured hard-fought wins over Milerock and Blueberry Hill respectively when the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) first division league continued Sunday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground in Linden.
Winners Connection overcame a one goal deficit to defeat Milerock FC 3-1 compliments of a Marmarlaque Davidson hat-trick.
Surrendering the early lead through a Randy Jerome strike in the 30th minute, Winners Connection levelled proceedings seven minutes later as Davidson netted.
Davidson then pushed Winners Connection into the lead, completing his double with a 54th minute conversion. The come-from-behind result was sealed in the 70th minute when Davidson completed his hat-trick.
On the other hand, Eagles United squeaked past Blueberry Hill 2-1. Allan Healey opened the scoring for Eagles with a 21st minute conversion.
However, Blueberry Hill battled back to level the score in the 41st minute as Elmore George etched his name on the scorer’s sheet.
Nonetheless, Eagles sealed the contest with less than four minutes remaining in the encounter as Jesse Marshall found the back of the net.
