A battle of the unbeaten sides will highlight the Georgetown Football Association/Stag Beer League today when leaders Western Tigers oppose third positioned Santos FC from 20:30hrs at the at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.
It will be a clash of polar opposites as the experienced Western Tigers unit lock horns with the youthful Santos outfit. The West Ruimveldt Tigers will start the matchup as slight favourite due to their superior all-round numbers.
In attack, the Tigers have recorded a tournament leading nine goals from their three previous matches led by Randolph Wagner, Devon Forde and Darren Benjamin.
Defensively, the Tigers have conceded only two goals mainly as a result of a dogged showing from the combination of Ryan Adolph, Cleon Forrester and Phillip Rowley.
Santos led by the combination of Ryan Hackett and Jobe Caesar has recorded four goals in their three matches while defensively they have conceded only one goal, which is the joint best record in the event. The trio of Vassel Cantzelaar, Jermin Fraser and Samuel Hunte will need to maintain that record if they are to be successful.
Meanwhile, an equally important contest will also be on show in the curtain raiser as fourth placed Riddim Squad will lock horns with fifth positioned Camptown from 18:30hrs.
Seen as an initial favourite at the start of the event, Riddim Squad will attempt to make up ground on the leaders and will look to their family connection of the Ramsay and Hope brothers for the win.
Camptown will also have a similar plan and will need their trident of Troy Prescod, Rawle Adams and Anthony Sancho to lead from the front if they are to claim the vital result.
