Defending champs Pacesetters as well as inaugural winner Ravens stormed their way into the quarterfinal round when the 3rd Annual GABF Road to Mecca National Club Championship continued on Sunday.
The holders grounded Eagles by an 86-69 score line in the second fixture of the night hosted at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue.
Nathan Saul and Joslyn Crawford led the way with 16 points each while Travis Burnett and Randy Richards scored 12 and 11 points respectively.
On the other side, Travis Belgrave top scored with 15 points while Kevin Wiggins and Mark Wills netted 14 and 10 points correspondingly.
Meanwhile, Ravens dismantled Bankers Trust Falcons 83-52. Dominic Vicente registered 19 points in the win while Ryan Gullen, Ryan Stephney and Tyrone Hamid netted 18, 15 and 14 points each.
On the other side, Lawrence Wilson recorded 13 points while Akeel Primo, Dale Sauers and Thornton Wilson scored 11, 11 and nine points respectively.
Also claiming a berth to the next round was Linden unit Vic-tory Valley Royals who defeated Berbice outfit Smithfield Rockers by a 72-68 margin.
Trevor Profitt top scored for the winner with 21 points while Harold Adams and Ron Beckles chipped in with 14 and 12 points respectively.
For the loser, Michael Bowen led the way 17 points while Neil Wills and Denson Fraser assisted with 14 and 12 points each.
Action in the event continues Friday at the same venue with a doubleheader.
In the opening fixture, Royals will oppose Retrieve Raiders in an all Linden affair from 19:00hrs while the feature contest will pit Pacesetters against Half Mile Bulls from 21:00hrs.
On Saturday at the same venue, Bounty Colts will tackle Pepsi Sonics from 19:00hrs whilst Plaisance Guardian will faceoff with Ravens from 21:00hrs.
Winner of the event will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy while the second, third and fourth placed sides will receive $250,000, $150,000 and $100,000 respectively and the corresponding accolade.
